Fight-N-Lady Report Morehead City
Well it has been a wild June so far we have been extremely busy between charter fishing & fishing the Big Rock tournament. I must say fishing has been pretty good I feel blessed to be able to fish as many days as we have. The first part of June it was big Gaffer fishing at its finest with a Blue Marlin thrown in here & there just to spice things up a bit. The fish has been moving around quite a bit in my opinion never catching them in the same place twice which makes it a little more challenging. The big gaffers would be in 70 Fathoms one day then an edge would shove in overnight & would be in 16 Fathoms the next day. We have also caught a few citation Wahoo this month. Most of the Hoos has been in the 20 pound + range. The Big Rock tournament was not as good for me as it was for others. After the first day the bar had been set we knew it would take a 650 pound fish to win it so we fished the big stuff all week. We did pull one nice fish off Tuesday around 400 pounds but even if we had caught her there would have been no need to kill her. After the Big Rock we kinda picked up were we left off with the meat fishing with the exception of the Gaffers there seems to be more fish now but the smaller class of them with a few nice Gaffers mixed in every day along with the Wahoo. Finaly things are starting to heat up nearshore & along the beach with a few Dolphin on the nearshore rocks along with the King Mackeral & PLENTY of Spanish Mackeral just on the beach which is perfect for the 1/2 day trips for the kids. Things are starting to slow up a bit so I will try to keep a current report up again.
