Default Friday, May 30th on the Mar-T

We ran a ten hour trip Friday for the father/son Kent crew. The water in the Gulf looked more like Mobile bay, but, the fish did not seem to mind. My route for the day was a west to east run checking for any possible keeper sized amberjack inside of twenty miles and also to see if I could locate any good numbers of triggerfish or beeliners.

We made stops on the bigger public spots and caught and released quite a few undersized AJs and a couple of really nice red snapper. The king drift line accounted for two of the bigger snapper and even a 26” amberjack, which oddly enough ate a ribbonfish drifted on top. It was a pretty sporty fight on 20# spinning gear.

We did manage to locate a tank holding hungry triggerfish and the king drift line finally caught a king.

The Kent’s take for the day was 23 trigger fish, 1 king mackeral, 2 lane snapper and 5 beeliners.
