Default Oregon Inlet - Stripers - 1/7/2008

DAWIGGS, Myself and a friend of ours (not a member yet, but hopefully after today) headed out of Oregon Inlet around 9 AM this morning. We got a late start for 2 reasons. 1 being our friend wasn't able to leave the docks till about 8:30 due to a 8AM doctors appointment. The other reason was the fog was so thick we couldn't see 10 feet in front of us.

Well after Ben arrived, we decided to try to get out in the fog and finally of course after we cleared the inlet the fog started to burn off. It's nice when you have top quality electronics!

We told ourselves that we would not run north of the Wright Brothers Monument because Ben had to be back to the dock around 2:30 in order to pickup his son after school. We had also heard scattered reports of Striper located off the Blue Water Tower in Nags Head (well there are 2 Blue Water Towers in Nags Head) and figured we would hang out there.

After some time and a few small marks we decided to make the run North up around Duck Research Pier. We arrived at the pier around Noon and had about an hour and a half to fish. Got the lines in and started trolling. After a little while (THICK BAIT MARKS) we had a fish on. Then like clockwork two seconds later a nice fish hit a Stretch 30. Ended up with two fish, in about an hour and a half.

So my wife and I are having Striper for dinner tonight! Even got Ben back to the docks on time right at 2:30.

It was like we were on a lake out there today. Beautiful Day, with good friends!

Here are a few pics.

As always Thanks again for the ride Dave.

I have always used something my wife cooks up, or House-Autry Seafood Breader..

Stickers - You forget, I had to pay for these so I can give away some but need to sell some also! In due time I'm sure!
