Default Limit of Rockfish, some Bluefish, and a Bluefin?

Yes, this happened today...... evidence the picture taken from a charter at Oregon Inlet today....

I'm hoping that BF taped out legal. Also, notice the one or two lone bluefish stuck under the stripers. Obviuosly the BF was chasing those blues to eat.

Usually I don't toot my horn here or on anyone else's website, about what they choose to eat or not keep, and, I'm sure if it was up in pics then it was a legal fish to keep and eat, but, maybe the charter themselves were tickled pink to catch a tuna on a nearshore trip. But that fish had a lot of growing to do.

I know if I was on that boat, I'd have been darn happy to have that limit of stripers to take home.

FWIW, my opinions are my own, and these rock were caught trolling, which is good news for this time of year.

Yep, that's a schoolie but I think it's legal. The last time I checked the regs, a rec guy could keep one schoolie, two mediums and one giant. Those regs are hard to keep up with. They can change at any time.

Nice to see good catches of rock being caught. Those folks did a good job of landing that bluefin on rockfishing gear and deserve credit! I've hooked a few trolling and never put the fish in the boat. Last year during the ASA striper tournament, a good friend fishing on a buddy boat fought a nice bluefin for over an hour and broke it off. Hats off to you all!

I know one thing, if I hired a charter for stripers and came home with striper AND tuna filets, I'd be smiling in that freakin' picture! Never seen such unhappy looking anglers...at least the adults??

Good point! I hadn't really noticed but they do look a bit cranky.
