Sunday Oregon Inlet Stripers
Or, Lack Thereof....Went out Sunday mid-morning on a neighbors boat to fish the Inlet for Stripers. When we got out there was about a dozen boats working around the shoals including Chris (blueh2o) on BW28's pretty 28Bluewater. For 4 hours we trolled, drifted and casted (very little current) live eels in and around the shoals. Nothing!!. I do not think we had a bite and did not see any hook-ups.. Weather was too good. Hot Dogs for supper....
Regards,
dave

We started a little earlier, but the action was over by the time we got there at 9am. The incoming current had slacked off and the shoals just died, we hoped the outgoing current would start it up, but no joy.
My buddy All Bowed Up was there early, and he got a 20-25 lb'er, had another hooked up, but some nitwit ran over his line while he was fighting.
Seth (BW28) did everything in his power, including taking a breaker over the side, and getting us as close as 3 feet deep in the breakers, but we just couldn't make it happen. We called it around 1 and headed back.
Thanks Seth for a good day on the water.
Sorry guys, I meant to take the camera, but forgot. Next time I promise.
Kelly, let's see that fish!

Was kind of a strange weekend. Weather was great but not alot of activity going on. When we went under the bridge it looked like a small city on the water. That is the first time I have been out of OI and have seen at least 100 boats all lit up. Thought I was heading into land......Mark

blue- I thought that might have been you out there Sunday morning. If I had read your post that you were fishing the bluewater I would have come on over and said hello.
I got out early about 7:00am. I threw a few plugs into the rips but it was a bit to hairy being alone on my boat. I fished a bit north of the inlet and picked up a few bluefish on an umbrella. Then switched gear looking for some albies. There really was no sign of life out there though. A really nice morning on the water and it was nice to get the boat wet again.

I always enjoy the "parade of lights" as we go thru the inlet and under the bridge and look around...And then the Sun comes up over the Horizon!!
What a Wonderful Day!!
Regards to All!
