Upcoming Bluefin Trips

I’m interested in scheduling as many bluefin trips as possible from 1/14 through the month of February and into the first couple of weeks of March as they’ve been available for the last couple of years in good numbers during this period.

More specifically, at this point I’ve got 2 people who want to fish either 2/21 or 2/22 depending upon the weather and need at least two more.

The rest of the dates are wide open.

If the spirit moves you give me a shout.

Note: If you’re interesting in fishing on a weekend I suggest you call sooner vs. later as the weekends tend to fill up quickly once reports of fish start filtering in.

Evening folks,

They’re hitting bluefin out of Oregon Inlet at this point. They should be within range of Hatteras shortly if they are not already in residence. There haven’t been enough boats fishing out of Hatteras recently to know for sure. ;-)

I’ve got two NC boys who are interested in trying to find a bluefin in addition to any blackfin and yellowfin we might encounter on either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday (1/17, 1/18 or 1/19) of next week.

I need two more to make the trip.

Please give me a shout ASAP if you are interested.

At this point, we've settled on Thursday. Still need two more crew for that trip.

Friday and Saturday also appear as though they will be fishable. Am wide open for both days.

Still waiting for the bluefin to show up off of Hatteras.

Have a trip booked for 2/21. Still have room for one more person.

I also have one person who wants to fish 2/18 or 2/19. Need 3 more to make the trip.

Beyond that, would like to fish as many days as possible between 2/18 and the end of February.

Hopefully, the bluefin will be in residence by then. If not, we’ll simply bag the trips.

It would appear that the bluefin have finally put in an appearance off Hatteras.

This is today’s report from Hatteras Harbor Marina.

Bluefin are here! Our boats released several today and brought one back to the dock. A private boat weighed in a nice 310lb Bluefin. There were also some Blackfin and Yellowfin Tuna. A scattered Wahoo and Dolphin bite.

Godspeed: Gregory Hoff of Cary, NC released a Bluefin Tuna. Jeffrey Roser of Virginia Beach, VA caught a 140lb Bluefin Tuna. Casey Hodges of Danbury, CT released a Shark.

Several boats were out fishing today, they had a pretty decent day. There were some Bluefin Tuna caught only one brought in, there were at least 6 released. A few Wahoo, Yellowfin Tuna and Dolphin rounded out the day.

Update ....

A number of Bluefin were boated and/or released by boats fishing out of Hatteras today.

We're going to give it a shot tomorrow.
