OI Fishing Report
Finally a fishing report!
First time out fishing in quite some time due to the wind and pursuing ducks. Left out of Broad Creek at 5 am and was greated with alot of radio chatter from the OI fleet on the terrible conditions of the inlet. It seems the latest storm and the lack of the dredging have created some shoaling, made it thru with no issues reading 6 foot all the way thru the center span. The morning's sat shot showed the warm water had pushed way north so our only chance was way south so we ran to the 280 line and put em in fishing back to the north. Seems the fleet had the same ideas because the showed up in the same area. No bites until we reached the 360 and had six rods go down by nice size blackfins, Thom and I managed to get all six in and continue to the north. Picked up a yellowfin shortly there after and continued to pick at them most of the day. Most fish came from the 380 to the 470 in about 100 fathoms water really pushed north at a quick rate all day.
Ended the day with a two man limit of yellowfins, a dozen blackfins and a couple lost mahi. Great fall day of fishing and a nice 46 knot ride in to the inlet
