Oi 8/23
Started out at the 040 30 fathoms looking for the whiteys, had about a dozen gulls swirling, so we pulled 'em back and couldn't get the spread out. knockdowns, but nothing would come tight and drop backs yielded 0. Couldn't see anything with the low sun, ended up being skipjack and wasted 30 min on them. Worked the area to 80 fathoms in and out no sightings, marks or knockdowns. Boys were gettting bites at the 000's so we fished down that way in 40 fathoms. saw our first fish at the 015, drop back, fish on. Grabbed the leader and out comes the hook, easy release. fished from there to the 990 all day. The next 5-6 fish would not bite. We flubbed a couple dropbacks, came tight on one for a second; fish 8-10. Then ended the day with a triple header, all released. Once we got on the fish we were raising fish every 20-30-minutes maybe less, but could only see going one direction. Of all those fish only two knocked a bait out of the clip. Goes to show how vigilant you have to be and a tower sure would be nice!
Hope they are still here after this little rain shower we got coming.
Hold on to your socks boys, everybody be safe and good luck.
