Default Saturday Oregon Inlet

Fished on TagNstick Saturday out of Pirates Cove. Got a tip from Tuna Teasor that the Full Choke crew had seen and caught White Marlin up around the 000's a few days before so away we went inspite of just about everybody else fishing to the south of the Inlet. We stopped at the 045 line in 50 fathoms ( temp 81*) and had a white marlin at 8am and had 3 by 10 am. We fished from the 045 to the 060 in/out of 50-70 fathoms all day and ended up seeing 5 whites and catching 4. No other bites of any species. Beautiful fishing with calm seas and no other boats around except a couple out on the horizon all day

Good work Dave. Your trip was more productive than ours on Saturday.

We found a nice weedline around the 650 and fished it most of the day. There were a good number of other boats around us at the beginning. There were a few charters around the 650 in 100 fathoms with green sticks looking for tuna. I never saw them bring any in or heard of a lot tuna caught on the radio.

We followed the weedline NE to around the 750 and then fished it back to the 650. We caught a nice gaffer on a blue/white ilander with a small ballyhoo and a bailer on a cedar plug. We never found a good school of bailers.

At least we came back with a couple of fish. I am still learning the waters off of OI and hope that my catches will improve with experience.
