Paul to bad the leader broke. I hate I took off the heavy leaders but that's what happens when you meat fish. 80 lb doesn't hold up that well on a gray hounding Blue Marlin. Sure was nice to see the first one of the year getting airborne!! He took my SeaStar!!

No real big numbers I think 5-6. We could have bailed some in one spot but were looking for bigger fish. Caught them just southeast of the point in the deep. Seems like all the fish were deep. 1200ft +.

Glad yall saw one. We fished Saturday only and headed to the 275. Got to about 18 fathoms and heard a thump on the T-top. Take a look and the weld on the mount to the open array radar had failed. Radar was lying on it's side being held by only wires. Lost a the Navnet unit that the radar was synced with. Swapped chips to the other Navnet, cut wires to the radar, tossed the open array into the console, and we were back on our way. Some nonskid on the hardtop would have been nice in those seas! My buddy thought the Regulator could stay behind the house the rest of summer with the new bottom paint, but back to Wanchese...

Hung around the 260-330 most of the day as the boats that kept heading north referred to shaggin grass like bailing hay it was so thick. Pulled nothing but big plastic all day and didn't see a blue one. Grass tended to be worse inside so we stayed out towards 1000 fathoms for a good bit of the day. Still caught a handful of gaffers in the morning on plugs. Finished up at around the 450, took a swim in the warm water, and headed back in.

Sounds like a repeat of our blue one Mark, and about the same size fish..oh well still nice to see one come up that that

On a side note TT, I also broke a weld on the T-TOP saturday and am looking a mobile welding shop in Wanchese. Called Wanchese Welding without a response about to try Harbor Welding...anyone have any experience with either or any recomendations?

Harbor welding has done some things for me and they did a good job. They are only a few hundred yds from your boat. They are just past bluewater on the left...Mark

I had them build my liferaft mount and radar mount in there shop. I dont know about the mobile end. I know that Todd at the marina can pull your boat and bring it to them if he has a set of keys at the marina. I dont know what they charge to move it and pull it...Mark
