Default Whites!!!

The white marlin bite is going off right now. Estimated 240 WM caught just today by the OIFC fleet. One of these years, I'm going to have to get serious about catching some whiteys. So, who's going?

Dave they are catching most of them off VB. I believe Alex said they were making a 70+ mile run to get to them. There are some within 45 miles but not in great numbers right now. We might go this weekend...Mark

Yeah, I read that report Mark. Definitly a run to get to them. Are you planning on running north after them this weekend or stay closer to the Inlet?

I'll be in Richmond at the Nascar race and Michael will be in St. Thomas blue marlin fishing so no go on the tow!

The fish should continue to push down some more. Some boats fished from 930-1050 in 50-100 and had shots at some fish. Kind of a crap shoot though. I know Tuna Fever was fishing in there and he caught 6. If you get by yourself around there and find a baitball you should be able to pluck a few off of it.

Our problem was getting bites next to boats that were pulling more rods and much bigger dredges...All our bites except for one were single bites even after circling for quite some time. Seemed like all the inboard boats could circle on the initial bite and raise fish with much more ease. Many boats caught 4,5,6 fish in one pass.

Another banner white day for the fleet, charters hitting from 10 to 27 in a day today. Came back across the bridge at 4pm and the outriggers were a string of blue flying!

I've gotta put one on the boat this season. I'm looking at the beginning of next week and might need some passengers. If the bite is that hot it's probabaly worth the run, on 30 knt boat anyway. let's see what this weekend brings.

Wind changed and fishing slowed. Only 20 whites released thursday. Might try sat watching weather.
Anyone else fishing this weekend?
