LOL, I generally feel the same way about hurricanes here in South Florida. My wife sees them as vacations since I set a bad precedent after Wilma and bugged out to DC and she played tourist with the kids.

Not to mention, the economic building boom to follow. Any chance Bonner Bridge may fall victim??

Funny story from Isabel...They eye of the storm was supposed to make landfall literally a mile from our oceanfront house at the time. We're thinking bye bye. Storm comes and knocks out the power in Richmond for almost 2 weeks so my family packed up and headed to the beach house only to find a couple missing railings with functional power. Basement didn' even flood

So far I've been fortunate to not get slammed by the same storm hitting Jupiter and Manteo...

Lost some soffett trim on the front of the house, playset in the back yard got knocked over onto the neighbors fence, never lost power though. Weird feeling the whole house sway with the gusts, but I guess that's what happens with a house on pilings.

My dad is good to go, boat in Coinjock is good to go. Said he woke up in the middle of the night because it sounded like his house was being powerwashed but other than that all is well....boats that stay slipped in broad creek are fine as well.

We are at MP 15 in Nags Head..My wind deal had @ 81 mph from ENE. Storm shutters started rattling at 1am.. Heavy rain/wind. Looks like we lost at least 2 pieces of the roof cap that points east. On the list with the roofer... Highway 12 south of Oregon Inlet is closed and flooding all down Hatteras Island. I understand power poles are bent over/broken at Whalebone Tackle and canopy at Shell Station on causeway blew over. No restrictions on inbound traffic that I am aware of...
The Admiral fixed sausage and pancakes for breakfast so life is good !
Have Fun..
