I had wind at 54 mph, ne, at my house last nite. As the storm moved a little north and we got sort of in the "eye" the wind let up a little but constant heavy bands of rain. Highway 12 in S. Nags Head has overwash and lots of debris and is closed south of Oregon Inlet and also up in Duck! Highway 168 up towards Va line was closed all morning due to bad accident. Va Beach/Hampton is getting hammered and mostly under water.

Mark, I circled through the parking lot in Wanchese this am and all looks good with your boat on the lift. Raining sideways so I could not walk the dock but looked ok..
Regards,
dave w

Just swam in the door from work. Managed 23 stops and delivered 1800 gallons today, my first day back after getting over my cold. Even with Grundens you were gonna get wet, the rain was sideways most of the day.

I watched the web cams today and they were filled with action.... especially at Rodanthe. I have a few buddies from Asheville sitting in Ocrocoke right now. They have been there since Sunday at a place on Oyster Bay they do every year. They absolutely slaughtered the inshore stuff before the storm. Lot's of nice flounder at Shell Castle, trout, bluefish, 50-60 small reds and one old drum caught on a 12 lb. flounder rig yesterday. One hour fight. The guys took measurements, got a citation and estimated over 50 lbs.

Stan talked to them a little while ago and they are in the eye of the storm..... zero wind, flat calm water, sun shining. It's really tempting them to launch the boat again but when the eye moves.... it's going back to hell.

Pretty funny..
