But would rather still be fishing. Had a great time fishing with Jeff and Josh on the boat.It had been a while since Josh had been fishing. He had a back issue to deal with over the past few months. The fish were there no doubt. Learned a few things while at OI this time. The hot bite was right at or a little before Sunrise or late late in the day. We were putting lines in the water between 6:30 and 7:30 all the days we fished and had some great action right off the bat. Most of our fish were caught right before or right when the sun came up and before the fleet started working the area. After that the fish would sound deep. We marked great fish all three days down at 100-150 ft in all the canyons we fished. Had a few fish hit the planer rod and lost a very nice fish that was screaming 35 lbs of drag on the 80. All the fish caught on top were 25-30 lbs not big but still fun. Anyway looking toward the next trip. Anyone heading out be careful all the cans are not in the inlet. Did manage some video and will post it at a later date......Mark
It was good to see you out there Mark. We also had the same experience with the morning bite, once the fleet forms up I can't buy a fish out of that area. I've had my best luck this year trying to stay away from the fleet.
I hope the tuna fishing keeps up, can't wait to get back out.
