I am fishing tomorrow... planning on getting our fill of dolphin then going to look for billfish.
It's been difficult to catch tuna unless you have a stick or a kite...don't feel like running the kite tomorrow so we'll see what happens.

I suppose we're going tomorrow also, on Evilgli's Wellcraft.
We'll see if it breaks or not. I'll post a report tomorrow night, if I don't, let the CG know.
Love those 4-6 forecasts, but I guess we gotta get it outta his system for once and all.

Well, we're back and getting ready for TV and fall asleep on the couch time.
Forecaster missed the forecast by a lot! It was a good 2-4 with an occasional 5 footer thrown in on the way out, raining on me the whole morning (I was the mate this trip).
About noon the sun broke, the winds died down, seas calmed down to 2 foot swells. Who knew? Certainly not the NOAA.
Now for the fishing part:
We drove straight to the point, and worked the NE part hard in 81-82 degrees of water temp.
About 9am we had one knockdown on a short rigger pink/white jethead/skirt on 80 lb flouro leader. Picked up the reel and lost it, then the flat went jiggly on a blue/white seawitch. Lost both, or so I thought.
Then about 1pm, the same pink/white in the short rigger gets knocked down, but I was right beside it, had it out before the clicker came on. Got about 20 seconds on the reel before it threw the hook. Bill came up behind the boat. White Marlin, but didn't catch him.
Looking back in hindsight, all three strikes were whitey's, I just didn't realize it till later in the day. We were hoping for Mahi, got blindsighted by the white's. I've never protested to be a very good billfisher, but some of you guys should be happy to hear that they are around.
Super nice day all told, I thought it was gonna be a slammer and a grundens day, but it turned out to be like butter for the afternoon. Damn nice day on the water in my brothers boat.

Nice to hear about the whites Chris. Did you try dropping back to any of them when they dropped it? I'm like you, never had any experience with them, just wondering if you tried that. How far north did you guys ever go?

i can answer that i know he dropped back on two of the hits, but no love..
and as he stated it was a interesting ride out this morning and then a beautiful ride in this afternoon.. but i'm still getting used to the new to me boat and think i and the boat did well for the first time to the gulf stream... cleaned the carbon out of the ol johnson 200 on the way back in the sound and she got up to 46.1mph, which impresses me considering the boat size and a ol 2-stroke engine.
i'm sure my brother can answer where we fished better than me..so i'll let him fill you in on that dave..
