Default Noaa vs Reefcast

Which one do you look at and trust more?

I have really come to like and trust reefcast more so than wunderground/noaa forecast. Reason I ask is because there is often a large discrepancy between the two. I'm pretty sure we are going to fish tomorrow even though this noaa forecast says 4-8. Reefcast says more like 4-6 and the SW wind doesn't affect us that bad from OI on the ride out.

Plus, I think the tunas bite better when it's a little choppy

I use both, but gotta give the nod to Reefcast. I watch both, and RC has been right more times than NOAA. Plus, the surfers use Reefcast to forecast waves. SO, my vote is RC.

ALso, remeber that NOAA gives a worst case of waves for the area. Example, today was glass smooth through the inlet, carolina skiffs going through at 11am, but looking at the near shore it shows 2-4's to 20 miles out. Also, you gotta look at the canyons grid, where it may show more, but you'll be trolling into it. I cringe on my small boat at the 3-5 NE winds in the GS because I know trolling north will get me soaking wet and slow me down a lot. But on a SW or SE I know the GS will be calm. FWIW.

Gotta use both there Alex.

This site seems to be the most accurate and we look at them all.. Reef cast has been a little squirrely the past 6months....Mark

I agree and I do use both but reefcast just seems to be more accurate.

Looking like sunday for us now...time to respool a few reels tomorrow.
