Default Hatteras report

We took TagnStick to Hatteras Saturday and fished Sunday and today..
Sunday we fished se of the rockpile and caught 16 dolphin and tagged and released a 300# (est) blue marlin.
Today back to the same area and caught 10 dolphin and had a blue marlin in the baits but not hooked. Plan on going tomorrow.....
Mahi sure is good any way it is cooked...

Congrats on the blue Dave! See you next week. I wonder if we'll see all those blue marlin sunning themselves on the surface this year like we did last year. I think me and Alan saw something like 20 billfish on that saturday during last years fish and fest

Pretty work on the blue one! We hooked up to one about the same size for a minute or two yesterday but it wasn't meant to be. That's not a bad way to start the Hatteras trip...

Tuesday- back to the Rockpile and beyond.. meatfish grand slam! Wahoo, yellowfin tuna and at least 15 very nice class gaffer dolphin... We keep only a couple dolphin so we have fresh fish for dinner and the rest are tagged and/or released. We kept the tuna for sushi and the wahoo. 6 hungry guys to feed. No billfish bites for us today but a another boat (Sea Creature) had 3 blues and a sailfish..great fishing! I think we are laying in tomorrow, but fishing is great so not sure....

Kinda sounds like the guys should stay here instead of going down south to Florida, doesn't it?

You guys are worn out I bet, and you don't have to drive 600 miles back home!

We layed in Wednesday to rest up and re-rig. Fished today.. Great day on the water. Marlin fishing so big baits and not many dolphin. Pulled the hook on a white marlin on a tld 25, naked ballhoo. Then about 110:00 am, bam short rigger goes off and the battle was on for 2 1/2 hours. Finally got the blue marlin to the boat and we estimate 700# which is consertive....Caught on a 80 with 125 test line on a islander express, blue and white, chrome head, large ballyhoo. Hooked at the 980 line in 120 fathoms. Back out again tomorrow if the weather holds...same place ...
regards,
