Default New Outer Banks fishing techniques

I have vacationed to the Outer Banks yearly my whole life (21 yrs). Most of the fishing I have done is either on the surf or on the pier. I also usually fish the jetty south of Oregon inlet. I would like to try some some new types of fishing or new areas between duck and oregon-inlet. Catching blues and spanish on the pier and small trout and flounder off the surf is fun but it would be nice to try something new. I have also fished on the 4 wheel drive beaches in corolla and oregon inlet, but I might not take a 4 wheel drive this year. Any advice on some new spots or techniques to try would be appreciated.

I already booked a nearshore charter for my whole group to catch some amberjack and triggerfish which we enjoyed last year.
