I need some help fishing...
I have a problem...
Well, not my problem, but, as you all know, I have the bad habit of putting everyone else before me.
I know a charter boat Captain out of Oregon Inlet who's in a somewhat bind.
He purchased a new Cat diesel on agreement that he tests it out, and gets a certain amount of hours on it before a specified time. He's close to those hours, but a little too close for comfort for him.
He's offering me a whole day charter, mate included, we just have to pay his fuel bill, which is about 800 for the day, and tip the mate for about 150$. Split 5 ways that's 190 per guy. He wants offshore fishermen only, guys who know what to do. He wants to fish, not screw around.
We'd be doing some billfishing this time of year, I'm sure, but he's more of a meat fisherman than a billfisher, so we'll try for the cooler water first, then see what happens. He has to have the hours before September 1st.
This is a reputable daily charter on a 50 foot cold molded boat from OIFC, and a neighbor of mine. He's got it all, A/C in the salon, 30 ' Quad rigged Rupp outriggers, New 2008 Shimano 50 WLRSA's all around (12 of them), Greenstick, chairs, everything.
Unfortunately, this makeup charter will have to happen during the middle of the week, possibly on a Tuesday or Wednesday. And also, I'm not gonna take anyone who I can't vouch for personally. Sorry guys who are looking for a deal, but this is a good friend of mine, and it is business.
Let me know if anyone is interested. I know 200 is hard to swing these days, but it's a whole lot better than swinging 300 and driving you're own boat. Plus, you get to relax, and just fish, and not worry about it.
Shoot, if I get the right people, we can tell the mate to just take the day off when we show up, the Capt. won't care one bit. He'll be thrilled to just go fishing.
