Be Careful things are dry.
As the wildfires continue to spread in eastern NC I was driving back north from Avon and the trailer on a puckup truck full or either pinestraw or mulch was on the side of the road a blaze.
My guess is the driver threw a lit cigerette out the window which landed in hid trailer and set it on fire.
Think before you toss. We don't need anymore fires.
Great job on a fast arrival from the Avon fire department.

The cigerette was right but he was carrying hay for horses.
Hopefully he learned his lesson.
Although the guy in the car in fron of me hasn't as I have watched him drop 3 lit cigerettes on the ground.
Some people.

You ain't lying, my lawn looks like the top of my head!
Seriously, they reinstituted the burn ban. I have a leaking 30,000 gallon propane tank that we need to burn down so we can fix it, and the fire dept said no go, so it has to continue to leak until they lift the burn ban.
If you're driving down by Lake Street in KDH, PLEASE refrain from smoking..... I'm serious!

You would be surprised at how mad people get when you give them a ticket for littering when they pitch a cig. butt out in front of me. Especially at night when they say it was not burning and I tell them that I only saw it because of the red ashes flying everywhere in front of me.
Blue isn't it more of a hazzard to let you sit there with 30,000 gallons leaking then to let you do a controlled burn off? If you burn it off isn't it a controlled flame that you can extinguish at anytime. It is not like you are going to run through a national forest with the thing burning. Oh well glad I don't live near it.

Yes, we tried to argue that. Unfortunately the state knuckleheads do not understand. Especially since we will have two local fire dept's on hand with fire trucks should something get out of hand. It's training for them. You WOULD think there would be some sort of special instance.
In the meantime, I've pumped her down to about 2 percent, which is the most I can get out of it due to the piping, isolated the tank via valves, and, I SH*T you not, a pair of vice grips and some duct tape on there to keep it from leaking through the bleeder cap.
I really should take a picture, it's one of those instances where you just shake your head.
I bought the good 3m 15$ a roll duct tape, BTW.

I talked to him also, just rain here up north. He said he talked to you this morning and you was miserable.
He said he had a 40-50 lb'er Mahi, he didn't weigh it.
He's fishing alongside Capt.Fred, who now has one of the sweet Garmin 4210 w/4KW setups. I wonder if he has the weather module or not?
I just picked up his old JRC radar for my boat, yesterday.
Would be nice to see some pics of that Mahi, I'll bug him monday when I go down there.

Chris, no weather module yet on Capt. Fred's boat, but it was not a big problem seeing the storms with the 4KW radar and avoiding the worst of them on Sat. We did get a few minutes of real heavy rain trying to squeeze between cells near the inlet, but no lightning. The 4210 is awesome, best part of it is the bathy charts. We got several fish on Sat. just from me poking around in what looked like fishy spots on the bathy charts, including a very large barracuda, which we released. It was pretty rough going out both days, we had 5 hoisters on Sat., and the barracuda. Sunday we had 3 bailer sized dolphin, got short on small ballyhoo, so went out to the deep billfishing, but no joy. There were tuna busting in the 230-280 rocks area, but we didn't get a sniff, I think some of the charter boats picked up a few--also saw a white released by a charter right next to us.
