THE MAD REPORT

May 2008 Edition

Message from the President

Hello to all! With MAD a little over two weeks away, I wanted to give you a brief update on our progress and alert you to some exciting changes that will hopefully make your MAD experience better.

First, I hope all volunteers plan to attend the MAD Volunteer meeting on June 6th at 6:00 PM at the Jaycee Park in Morehead City. We will cover the event in detail and host a Q&A session. Once we are done with that formality, dinner will be served along with a tour of the parks and dock facilities.

Second, if you are using the Wildlife ramp in Morehead City I have some exciting news. This year we are offering a truck and trailer VALET service for all volunteers! We recognize that the walk to the parking lot and the crowd in the afternoon might cause some angst, so we will have volunteers taking care of your truck and getting in line at the end of the day to meet you for haul out.

Finally, I have been getting quite a few questions about the parking situation. After your boat is back on the trailer, we have arranged for a secure parking lot within a few blocks of the City Park. This lot is fenced in and will be guarded by a uniformed, off duty police officer and his patrol car.

I don't want to type out all of the details now because we will provide complete details at the volunteer meeting on June 6th!

Thanks again for volunteering for MAD III. We currently have over 350 signed up and assigned to boats for fishing and many more than that coming to the cookout. Thanks to you, this is going to be by far and away, the largest MAD event yet!

Thank you for continuing to be part of the Military Appreciation Day Family. Without your support, we could never even dream of ‘Thanking Those Who Serve America’ on such a grand scale!

Thank you,
Rich Anderson
President
