Yep, today on the Country Girl: A 73# rockfish off the mouth of the Chesapeake, near buoy 4A. Pending state record, caught on a red and white Stretch 30.

BW28 was out today, he caught a 32 Lb'er off the duck pier on a red/white stretch 30. He spent all day for that one fish. Diligence!

Many commercial purse sieners around today... I was in South Nags Head and saw 4 boats working a school of birds hard... I'm assuming menhaden fishing...

I fished the Gillnet season for Rock,Yesterday(Tuesday) of the Wright Brothers Monument only caught 5 fish, and set the net 6 times...The 5 fish weighed 145 pounds nice size, but Pretty sorry fishing..Some fish where caught above the steel pier at Duck and on up to the Va. line..The Boats your buddy saw were probably gillnetters fishing the dropnet season.. The "Country Girl" that caught the big fish was out of Rudee Inlet. I do not think that is Big Al's Country Girl at Pirates Cove..
