Hmmmm good point on the rain. That is a serious consideration right there. Are these outriggers the type that will be up all the time or will they be easy to lay down? It seems like they would be hard to fully rinse in the up position. Mine are the type that mount on the hard top but they fit into a base that is similar to a rod holder. That way I take them down at the end of the weekend and lay them on the walk around deck on my boat. They get soaped and rinsed real well each trip. I think if you could do that then the lack of rain would not be as big an issue.

My worry with the powder coating is what happens if it starts to chip or crack? Unless these riggers have spreaders they are going to bend a lot. I had an outboard engine bracket that was powder coated and it started chipping (in a couple small areas) in about 3 years. It may have just been a bad powder coating job but it turned me off to the powder coating system.

Regarding woody wax, I've only used the woody wax on my nonskid and never tried it on any metal. It sure keeps blood from sticking to the non-skid!! Glen, does it buff easily off of metal? It says no rubbing or buffing but is that for real?

comes off easier than rejex...and then there is an insulator coat that goes on with a foam brush...

and John as far as the west is concerned...woody was shown to me by a captain of a big sportfish that hailed out of Cabo..he did his metal every 60 days with this kit...so it might work on your side...I would think you could get a stream of water on the riggers after every big trip...it was just part of my wash down...like fred I just extended them and brought them down on the deck every now and them for a run up and down with the glove - wait 5 min and wiped with a clean glove.......woody sells the gloves for 3 bucks apiece...the only way to do piping....you just grab!
