Default Dorado 23 200/250etec performance

250 Etec
Portabracket, Full Tower, light gear, two people.

Rebel 18 pitch 6000 rpm 53mph, great cruise, but ventilated on holeshot when jacked high, tabs down, trying for a shallow water take off.
Rev 4 19 pitch 6000rpm 51.7mph porpoised badly, better bite on take off, but the porpoising was very bad.

200 Etec,
Portabracket, full tower, light gear, two people.
17 Mirage Plus. 6000rpm 45.5mph, hooked up well for shallow water take off.
19 Mirage Plus. 6000rpm 49.5mph, still hooked up well.
21 Tempest Plus. 6000rpm 50.7mph, ventilated badly on a shallow water take off, and sensitive to hight and trim. One a long straight run, he hit the sweet spot and cracked 50mph, but it was not a user friendly prop.

I was suprised that the Tempest blew out during holeshot, and the Mirage hooked up the best.
As for RPM being the same no matter what was on it. He (JD the manager) was trimming each prop for the best set up, and with that porta bracket, he could put rpm anywhere he wanted it really. I assume thats why a 17 19 and 21 pitch props all hit 6000.
Cruise was good with the 19, holeshot was strong, and with a load I doubt it would go over 5800, unless you were just doing a high speed run jacked way up high.

Hmmmmmm how can that be?? All those pitches with the same wot rpm?? Did you have a water pressure guage?? What was the water pressure for each prop at 6k rpm's. I bet it fluctuated drastically. Were any of the vents removed from the props? Surprised to see the 21 blow out like that. I have a different set up and all but mine is a rocket coming out of the hole without tabs and a 21 p. I am at 6k also wot. I have no hole shot issues without tabs so i might move up to a 23 to gain a few on the top and still have the tabs if i suffer a little on the bottom. I wish i knew someone that had a 23p that i could borrow. Most bay boats with high hp motors run a 21p.

Yes, the rpm thing looks strange, but here is a more accurate description.

The 17 Hit 6000 easily and he hadn't lifted the motor up much.
The 19 hit about 5800, and he lifted the motor a touch more to get another .5 mph and went to 6000 to get it.
The 21 was down around 5500, he was really jacking the tempest high (slipping) to crack 50mph.
I should have wrote down all the rpm numbers 4500,5000.5500 etc. that would have gave a more accurate info. But we were concentrating on holeshot and speed an there wasn't a fuel flow guage to calculate cruise.

The solid plugs were all the props including the Tempest. I was really shocked that the Mirage held and the Tempest blew out at the same engine height (very high) during holeshot.

Shoot me an email and well try to get you a 23.
