Matt: I understand your concern about the nature of the posts. In my case however, my response was pretty well on target. I spent the last year re-rigging a Jupiter 31 that came out like a showpiece. I took the boat to Matson to have it shipped to Maui and they proceeded to drop something very heavy on it. The boat was a total loss. So, I went back to South Florida in August and bought a replacement for it. The replacement boat is shown in the two pictures below. I have done something that may well be considered a travesty. I removed the t-top and am replacing it with an arch! I am primarily a diver and shade is the number one requirement while suiting up. Otherwise you sweat to death before you get in the water.

So here's a shot of the freshly buffed rear corner of the boat where I just finished filling some gel coat scratches. You can also see the 208's. The next shot is probably the only picture taken of a Venture 34 with an arch. The arch that is sitting there is a mock up for figuring out height and width.

Kern - I don't get it. Are you attaching something to the arch to supply shade ?

208's... cracks me up....I have known Kern for about a year now and had dinner with him a few times...and he always refers to these motors as 208's....can you make decals for them?

Run them into the ground and replace them with F250's once they go digital shift and power steering, IMO....

Yes, the arch will have a full bimini, so when it is done it will look a lot like the one on my Stamas 29, but it will be about 2 feet longer. I am thinking about putting an eyebrow on it to offer some shade for the forward console seat, like the Jupiter had. But the console on the Venture is long and I think the eyebrow would have to be too long. I've included a shot of how Intrepid does it as well. I like the Intrepid style arch, but it would have to be built in Texas or Florida and shipping it would be tough.

Real glad you're here Glenn. I'll be picking your brain from time to time I'm sure. Thanks for the bilge alarm link as mine just died.
