Default What's a good (normal...standard) distance between leaning post and console?

X = ?

As a rule of thumb from the front of the cushion to the back of the console? Also, while we're at it, whats a normal height? However tall it takes so I can comfortably lean on it and hop on it if I want?

Ryan,

I can't answer that question an I'm not sure.

But what I will say is that is some excellent Artwork!

Your family must be very proud

I do what I can Matt, what can I say...

I will say this, I'm home, and the forecast looks like crap...I could have stayed in Blacksburg to watch us beat the poo out of Miami.

But alas, I reckon I should be workin on this boat anyhow.

I've got two seats side by side that are yours for free...just need a student ID to use em...but my uncle uses my old one and has never had a problem, and he's a good bit older than you I'd guess.

Would I get heckled if I wanted to cheer for Miami?

Heckled...no. Last week we did the FSU war chant so loud that their players started going into the locker room with 2 minutes left in the game, but we never heckle, that's poor taste.

That is a very good question. How do designers come up with the Ergonomics of “One size fits all”?

Sounds like you’ve got the opportunity for a custom fit. I guess you could encounter a problem with selling the boat if you had it so customized that it “only fit you”.

I’m anxious to know what the standards are too.

He's an Etch-a-Sketch prodigy ~

Good question and one I'm interested in knowin' the answer to when you get one.

Here's a suggestion ~ Base it on your height then have your wife measure from your butt down to the ground. Next measure your arm length then divide that by half (this would be where your arms would be comfortable on the steering wheel). Next, go and purchase a telscoping leaning post/seat and then set it where it's comfortable for you.

What do I know........I'm just a Bait Girl. Just tryin' to help. I know- I know......Shut Up and Fish ~

The space on the venture is about 18 inches, but when I set up my Stamas, I put it at 22 inches.

Here's how you do it. Buy a piece of 3/4 plywood a bit wider than the leaning post and long enough that you can bolt the post to it and have 16 inches sticking out toward the console to stand on. That will keep ithe leaning post from tipping when you lean on it. Then, put it the whole mess in the boat and move it around until you like where it is. Measure it and then drill the deck.......
