Default boat lift

i am looking for some help in the process....first thing is getting a permit. I posted this on another forum but since im expecting that they arent the most helpful, i am trying here due my opinion of the guys on this forum I appreciate Luis's advice, but his guy is overcharging just a tad in my opinion, and money is tight right now due to me opening another office.

So....first help im asking for is getting DERM permit.

thx

price is in the hundreds..and time in process depends on your location. If you are on a main thoroughfare canal, you need state approval - mine took two months...if you are on a finger canal with just local neighbor traffic - figure 4 weeks or less...

and always overbuild - a lift that can support twice/3 times your boat goes a long way when you are in house/sell mode....

Be thankful that you dont live in NJ when it comes to getting a permit for anything that has to do with the water. There are more tree huggers here then there is in Yellowstone National Park. Getting our lift permit was like pulling teeth. We wound up doing ours without a permit a few years ago. The permit finally came after the install. There is no field check by a building inspector (in Nj) just a tax that you have to pay.

Todd,

Try going back to the people I sent you to with the permit thing. They do excellent work and the product is top notch. I know it isn't cheap, but it's a great lift. I did what I could to hook you up.

Good luck with this process, I know it isn't easy and it's a PITA.
