Default the crumbling pad mystery solved...

When I am an idiot I will certainly call myself one too. About 60 days ago, I posted here about random orbital pads crumbling after I was done and I had rinsed them out with laudndry detergent and dried them. about a week later one looked like this :

I was very concerned that the rejex somehow was not compatible with the pads....
these pads are about 20 buck apiece and not cheap. Today I found 3 more crumbled. Here's what happened:

I keep all my stuff in a big Tupperware tub with a snap shut lid. Only the pads that were dry but not in zip locks were crumbling. On the bottom of the tub was a cloth bonnet I used to apply toilet bowl cleaner and it still had a bit on it. The bottles of toilet bowl cleaner were also in there. The pads were soaking up the fumes and crumbling…..moral of the story: all pads in zip locks after dry and no toilet bowl cleaner near the waxes and stuff….keep all your acids and corrosive stuff away from your detailing supplies...

If you're got the toilet bowl cleaner in your dock box, watch that too...

the pad closest to the bonnet with left over toilet bowl cleaner crumbled like a cracker...all the bolts on the buffer are rusted badly...only hope the internals are OK....
