By Far ... The Badest Yellowfin To Date
This machine was water tested today in Sarasota. Not many detail on performance numbers yet but they ran it 12 miles offshore today and got into some 3 to 5's.

Hate to say it Jeff, but I believe the person who purchases that beast probably doesn't give a damn about performance numbers...

I agree and owned and presently own Merc's, love them.
That being said the 350 Verado Merc. would NOT be my choice on this boat as they are strickly a high performance motors. A better option .... if I was buying ... would be either the 300 Verado or the 350 Yamaha's.
I believe the buyer in this case was looking for a 55+ mph cruise and he has a boat that will do that with ease.

Ya know its funny,,,,,,Ya go down to the keys and that's just about all you see is Merc's.
Ya come here to Charleston,SC and out of 30 inshore charter captains,,,you might see two Mercs.
Merc's have a bad reputation here for some reason,,offshore and inshore.
90% of the people here run Yamaha's that have there choice.............................

Go to Alaska and you'll see probably mostly Mercs, followed by Evinrude, Honda and then Yamaha. Around here in Washington I'd say it's a toss up between Mercury and Yamaha

I think it's more about service,,,,,,, I personally see fewer qualified mechanics for Merc here in NC. This may change because one of the largest Yamaha Dealers/ service departments in eastern NC is closing or has closed. Morehead Marine was expensive, but they were well stocked and there for several generations of boaters,
Also, I think for a long time in this part of the south Mercs were considered freshwater motors and all others seemed to perform better in saltwater. Could have been corrosion control or just myth.
If good Merc dealers, and more importantly service centers stay open or relocate to NC this could become a great success story.
Most of the NC manufacturers used Yamaha as well,,,, Grady comes to mind..
My custom built Pro Marine- Intruder came standard with Zukes but for a grand more I opted for the Yammie 4 stroke. Never been disappointed! my .02

Jack, I'll bet it has AC in the console and the other pump is probably the live well. Nice boat, way out of my league, though.
