Default Holding power in the sound 9lb Danforth?

Hey guys,

Looking to maximize my labor day this weekend. I wanna anchor up my Seapro 235 with my 9lb danforth behind my buddies house in the sound tomorrow so I don't have to deal with the ramp Monday and work on my trailer some tomorrow. At low tide there's about 2.5 foot of water, mud bottom. I've only got 50' of scope to float around in. 4' of chain, 3/8" rode. Well, more like 30' of scope to play with. I can hop out and dig in the anchor if need be, heck it's only 4 feet deep.

Winds will prolly be NE 10 knots. Should I sink the anchor and back off under power and make sure it will hold, or fasten together some concrete blocks, sink them and cleat the bow off to that?

I also have some pilings that I can tie off to, but I'm not sure that there is enough draft for the boat at low tide.

I will be leaving it overnight, and that is something that has always made me nervous, I don't like leaving the boat floating unattended.

personally i would tie it off to the pilings. just put the engine all the way up in case it does sit on the bottom at low tide..won't hurt anything if it does.

what your doing to your trailer bro?

Shouldn't be much tide. Normally there is only about 6" tide difference at PC...Mark
