Capt. Fred is on vacation in Hatteras (see Jay Kavenaugh's report from yesterday, you can see him grinning, the guy on the left in the pic--they had three sail releases on a make-up charter), not sure if he has internet access at his rental. However, I think he may have mentioned who did it in a post on this site, I will look for it, also will check my old e-mail to see if I have it there. Maybe he will chime in with the answer if he is able to.

No rush on my end. My main fuel tank is out of the boat and on the driveway wrapped in a tarp (where it has been for a month) and the boat is at the mechanic, not being looked at (where it has been for a month).

What kind of boat are you putting the diesel in? The motor box dimensions may either limit or expand your choices?

Probably not going to put a diesel in ($$$) but if I were it'd be a Correct Craft Fish Nautique. The motor box is the center console (whole thing flips forward.)

It doesn't really limit in any direction any more than the deck around the front and sides of the motor would...and if I had the money for a diesel, I'd likely have the money for a few modifications to the deck or console.

What I might not have the money for would be the work required to change the shaft angle if that became necessary to swing the proper (pun, get it) prop.
