I hate glasswork...
Boat is completely rewired thanks to my brother's (Evilgli) and mine's hard work and our wive's patience this memorial day weekend. We somehow managed to cook out on the grill also!
Here come's the hard part. I hate doing fiberglass work, but it's about time to redo the hardtop...
Last one was built using similar methods...
3/8in luan ripped to provide a bendable core, ripped every three inches
West Epoxy and filler
Chopped glass matt (3/4 ounce) on each side
Scarf joint to glue 2 sections together, as my top is 6' by 7' total, hence a 4x8 sheet won't cover it.
Fairing, lots of sanding (I hate sanding)
Interlux Toplac or Brightside tip and roll...
Last one was good for about three years in full weather, and I never sealed a hole. This one I'm gonna seal all the holes so she don't rot. BTW, you can stand on this once installed, weighs about 90 lbs. Foam core would weigh about 40 lbs, but add about 800 dollars to the materials cost.

Coming down to the wire there Chris. Sounds like it would be a pretty fun project if you didn't have the time crunch on you. Post some pics of the entire process if you would. I'm curious as to how you're going to make that. Thx

I'll show you the process Dave with the jig and all, and type it out later. In order to get it done I have to spend the hours I have off at night doing the work, so I'm not gonna have much time to type out written instructions, but I'll snap the pics then write it out. There was another guy on THT asking about it a few months back, so it'll help.
Honestly, I'd rather use foam and vaccuum bag it, but I have nowehere near the time and money for that right now. And my last one worked pretty well, but was heavy. But, the t-top tubing held up so I'll do another to get me by.
Really, it's not that bad or technical, just labor behind a sander, and some general knowledge of epoxies and glass.
But down to the wire?
Hell no, the boat is ready to go into the water tonight, and I'll buy a 8x12 blue tarp and zip tie it tot he tubing to get me through the weekend.

Yep, don't need the top, gps antennas were mounted into the console tonight. Only thing I need it for is to mount the radar rear foot and antenna, but in a pinch I could mount my antennae to the outrigger pad.
Standard Horizon WAAS is picking up 6 satellites at 80% through the ebox and a sheet of plywood thrown over the t-top just to be safe, (we're testing here).
Old Garmin GPS 128 is picking up 4 loran satellites at 70% in the driveway on the test.
I've seen more jury rigged up stuff offshore than you can believe, and heard the distress calls over the radio, so I'm pretty sure I'm ahead of the curve.
I've also fixed alot of jury rigged up stuff offshore also, so we may be jinxed here.......

New pics...
I was up till 1am last night, doing stupid stuff on the boat....
Got up at 0730, went to work, and then started to feel "sick" at 10am or so. I think I might have the swine flu. Course, I did manage to get a layer of glass on the top this morning before I vomited and layed in bed on the doctors orders (just in case the boss is reading).
When I feel better after lunch, I'm gonna need to secure some wires with zip ties and adels, then I might take another nap (per doctors orders). Those big 6ga wires running from stern to e-box don't need to be wiggling around.
Under helm
Ebox fuse panel
Transom buss bars
Feeling so sick right now, I might not make it into work tomorrow, plus my child is running a fever, so I may have to stay home and watch them. Being sick sucks!
