Default the new V 350

A few other details are leaking out from the boatbuilders and such. The engines were seen at the most recent SKA tournament in Key West. Some details:

1. it's a new engine and not just a software dialup of the 300. It has new heads, new supercharger and other internal parts changes....no change in boost pressure.
2. It is the same displacement as all other 6 cyl verados.
3. It will burn 91 mandatory and carry the same warr as the XS 300 (2 yr).
4. some changes to the gearcase - I assume more strength
5. and it is WILD looking....look for pics here on the start of the show with another surprise that will blow you away.

the proto pic:

From the picture, it looks like the engine is set back even more than the 300. It is hard to tell, but it looks like the front of the cowl is about flush with the transom. The picture shows the engine mounted on a Stainless Marine Jack plate, which gives it even more setback, but look where the mounting face is to the front of the cowl. We'll know at Miami. No, you'll know, I won't be there.

From the changes in the cowl, they must have changed the air box also. Can't wait to see what surprise Mercury has at the show that will blow us away. 400HP? 450HP? Come on Glen, give us a hint. I really suck at waiting!

It's Glen's favortite time of the year again...

the more i think about it...500hp is attainable. Look at Porsche. Their 911 Turbo is a 3.6 L engine and it may be turbocharged instead of supercharge, but still only pushing 15 psi and making 480hp. Tweaking them you get 650-700 easily. yeah the 911 is bigger than the V-rod's but no cat or big muffler or them. just my 2 cents

Look at the 3.5L honda im running , its the same motor that was running 800+ HP on the race track in F1's.

I think they detuned it a little.

I just spoke to Everglades about putting one of these 350 hp motor on my bay boat..they told me that they have tested a 243 model and it topped out at 107 mph with 80 gallons of fuel and 4 big fat guys. There main concern is that instead of drafting 13, the boat now would draft 37 inches.
