Your on the same page as me in terms of the step up. My Monza has a small step up, maybe 4" and some of my friends have busted their a$$ on several occasions. The 29 Regulator has a step up in the worst possible place IMO, it just kills that boat.

Many captains like the step in our waters as they throw a cast net from the bow.

Worth noting is that the new Bluewater 35 to be introduced at the Miami Show next month is suppose to be a level deck and three piece construction. It should be one of the boats to see at the show.

Awesome pictures...

Not to hijack your thread, but made me think. I was driving up 17 North today (in NC) somewhere around Wilmington and ran into two 42 ft Yellowfin's heading south. One was the orange hull, let me tell you that thing looked awesome!!

Thanks for the report!

I would hope the Yellowfins looked good at $400k. The Bluewater has the step up but when comparing the price to the contender is a better deal. The Cape Horn is a awesome looking and fishing boat but I hate how low the transom is. It just seems dangerous on a rough day to be working the back of the boat. Just my opinion here.

Fairweather,
I believe that YF 'lives on the mainland side of Ocean Isle on the ICW. He's also got a matching orange YF bay boat as well. Killer set up he has on the ICW.

I was at the Stuart Boat show last weekend - very large show! The everglades 29 is what I wanted to see. A lot of fluff, but a nice boat. Then I heard about the Cape Horn 31 w/350's - top speed over 72 mph! It may be the poor man's yellowfin (not my quote) but it is nice. My brother ordered one to replace his 06 32 Wellcraft w/300 HPDI's. I think I will get one, too. It doesn't have much stowage and the cushions are thin, but for $130k, I can work with it. One concern I have is all the weight aft, engines, fuel tanks are in front of transon, and it has small scuppers. If I took a wave over the stern, or stuff the bow, I don't think the scuppers would help much. No shoreline power, either.

Just got back from the other Raleigh show. It was much better than the first one. Its still not as large as the show that is normally at the convention center but there was still a lot of product there.

No Etecs anywhere.

Plenty of Yamahas and Mercs.

I did not see any. There was a lot more boats there than the Bass & Saltwater show. Here is the list:
Boston Whaler, Sea Pro, Sea Hunt, Parker, Chris Craft, Cobia, Sea Hunt, Scout, Albermarle, World Cat, Key West, Carolina Skiff, Rabalo, Sea Fox, Seaswirl, Procat, Regulator, Jones Bros, Southport, Grady, Triton, Triumph, Sailfish, Twin Vee, Ranger, Clearwater, Hydra Sport, Pursuit, and I am sure I missed a few others.

The show was smaller than at the convention center because of space limitations.

The building that it was in used to be owned by the car dealership I work for. It would make a great boat dealership in a great location.

Sorry guys but the camera was here at the house.
