hblac is simply my user name on my company network. I use it all the time as that is something easy for me to remember as I'm now officially an 'old fart'. My real name is Hal Blackmore, duh! It's less typing too and I'm a lazy F'er. Well, I guess there goes the anonimity of the internet.

Well my scren name is my Amateur Radio Call sign. That way I don't have to worry about someone already useing it on whatever board I am on.

My boats thru the years have each had differant names.

Let's see if I can list a FEW of them.

Back in the late 70's I had a 16 ft Checkmate with a inline 150 Merc. I named it "Wild thang". Mainly because it was a HANDFUL when in "Boogie mode".

Then came the 18 ft DuraCraft with the 140 V-4 "Rude". Named "Swamp thing". Used it mainly for fishing in the Louisiana swamps.

After the DuraCraft came the 18 ft Glass Stream BAss boat with a Mercury 2.4L Fuel Injected motor from Mercury Raceing. (IN about 1983 or 84) Named "Blew-by-U". (Can you guess why??)

After the Glass Stream showed a LOT of spydercracking from the 2.4L I put the 2.4 EFI on a 1985 17 ft Center Console Bullet. (Weighed 680 pounds before rigging) The Bullet was named "Blew-By-U II". I could run mid 90's with that one in "Fishing trim" with two people in the boat. Raced that one in some "Speed trials". Ran consistantly a hair over 100 mph. Best trial was 104 mph on the first pass. 105 MPH on the backup pass going the other way. This was a Bass Boat mind ya...

Then came the 18 ft custom built aluminum boat. (Scully aluminum craft in Morgan City, LA) Had a Mercury XR-4 150 on that one. It was named "THe Lead Sled". Had that boat longer than any other. Had it built in 1991 and sold it in 2002. Fished the LA marsh out of Venice, Leesville and Fourchon mostly with that one. Would run to the close rigs in it when the weather was right...

Then in 2002 I fell into one heck of a deal on a 1982 Grady Swordfish that had two 1992 Mercury 2.5L CR 200's on it. Named that one "Rat Patrol". That name came from my being a "River Rat" that also "Patrols". (EBRSO Sheriffs Deputy) Sold the Grady earlier this year.

None of the boats I have operated over the years for the Sheriffs Office had names. (Well on them anyway ) I have no idea how many hours I have put in on those boats. But remember every recovery that has been made in those boats..... (Recoverys that required body bags) One was an airplane with two victims still inside the plane.

Now yall have a LOT more information about boats in my life than you ever wanted to know.......

Well I really don't know..... In a "Holding pattern" right now. After the kids "Gajiate collage" we will see. But whatever it is it will most likely be a walk around cabin with a pair or something hangin on the back.

Unitl then I will just pilot my "Land Yatch".
