Girls Day On The Water & First Fish Caught - All Smiles!
On Sunday my wife, son, daughter and I had the chance to take two of my daughter’s friends boating, fishing and lunching. One girl had never been boating before in her life and the other had been out just one time, neither has ever caught a fish. It was great to share some water time with those who enjoyed it so much and really did not care what they caught. I’ll let the photos tell the story.
Very cool pics. What are those long silver guys? Some sort of mullet?
They jump like Mullet when hooked but are actually called Ladyfish. It is a great first fish as they are relatively easy to catch and give a strong fight for their size. This time of year where there are birds in the bay there are ladyfish.
Got one of the girls out again. Here is a quick report I posted locally. Just great to get some girls hooked on fishing
Our family took one of my daughter’s friends out yesterday for some fun on the water. Gina had only been boating one other time and that was with us last year. She also caught her first fish ever last time we were on the water.
This time she had plenty more firsts including her first Sheepshead, first Black Grouper, first Bluefish and first Spanish Mac. We fished several near-shore spots with a combination of Berkley Gulp, MirrOdine 17MR’s, Yozi Crystal Minnow’s and Got-Cha Jigs. We also tried out Berkley new Gulp Chum and the Macs loved it! It was another perfect day on the water in paradise.
