Default Light Tackle Spring 07 Kings

These were taken duing one of the perfectly calm days on the Gulf last year. Part of the report I posted after our return..

Using 20 pound test on our light tackle inshore fishing rods, with my son at the wheel, we chased the active schools rather then trolling as most boats around us appeared to be doing. Once we got to an active school we turned the motor off and casted into the active fish. Given the perfect water conditions we were able to see 10’s of fish all around the boat and actually attempted to cast toward the larger fish, what a blast. We hooked up many but wound up getting 4 to the boat and carefully released 2.

Jeff are you trolling the drone spoons? They are deadly for school kings. We used to troll them on the downriggers with great results.. Great pics.....Mark

Actually Mark we were just casting to the schools that day but also troll them.

We since have switched to these as we get similar results at a lower cost.
