My wife and I flew up to Manchester then drove up to Meredith for a long weekend. We stayed at Mill Falls (Church Landings). Friday we headed up to Mount Washington. The weather was great except for the 3 feet of snow that closed the Auto Road which was a bummer. We headed headed over to Wild Cat Mountain and took the Gondola to the top. The view was unreal, not a cloud near the summit at all.

Ahh yes. Tuckermans Ravine in that second to last picture. I hiked that several times over the years. Last time was with my father and uncle Jim when they were both in their 60's. They're both long gone now. Thanks for the pics.

Pretty country, nice people, and bright colors in the fall. When I worked in the real world I travelled in that area as we had paper mills in Berlin/Gorham/Groveton.. The winters can be brutal with the cold and snow but the people are prepared..
Regards,

Regards,

I've been up to Meredith about 6 times in the last 2.5 years. The company I work for bought 2 large format digital presses from Vutek. The 1st trip was great, June sunny and warm. Went up for a week of training in October, it was still very nice. My last 3 trips were in the dead of winter. Last February I spent a week up there. I have never seen so much snow. 30 feet piled on the sides of the roads and cold that went to your bones. Their is no way I could live there in the winter. It was pretty cool swimming in the outdoor pool heated to 88F surrounded by 5 feet of snow.
