G'Day all,
Went out in a friends boat on Thursday for an overnighter. Fished in 300' & caught a couple.

Me with a new best friend.

The haul.
These fish are Snapper (Chrysophrys auratus) & grow to about 30 pounds off Brisbane. They get to double that in the cold water down South. They are great eating but it is hard work pulling them up on a rod from deep water.
I doubt if they are related to any of the US snapper.
I have included the scientific name for any marine biologists on the board.

And no comments about the ratty seats either.
