Robert,
I am working on getting a video camera mount done for the boat so I can leave the camera mounted and use the remote. I honestly just forget about the video thing when a reel starts to sing!!! I will get you some action shots next trip. Im working on it.
Being new to this between getting the camera settings, setting up the the computer, and learning the Video software it takes more time than you would think......Mark

Nice video Mark. Isn't that your first video with all the new toys. I had my camera there with a 2GB card and in the heat of the moment, I couldn't find the time to grab it and turn it to movie mode. We have to figure a way to mount them and just hit a button when the reels are screaming.

Thanks for a nice trip.

Oh yeah, I'm almost out of wahoo. I have a recipe from hell.

Later,
Alan

Man that's nice Mark. Gary and I were talking about video cams on the way back from Hatteras. Can you pull a still photo from the video?

Alan,
Yes that was the first video. The camera has a remote so I was thinking of making a mount that will be attached to the 'V" on the center rigger mount. With the wide angle lens I beleive that will be high enough to cover the cockpit. I am going to have to experiment to see what works and what does not. You are right about trying to get to the camera it is tough to do when the reels start to scream. With the camera mounted on the center rigger all you do is keep the remote in your pocket and hit record. You are welcome on my boat anytime Alan.

Dave you have been chowing down!!

Capt Fred,
Saw your post and sorry about the harpoon!! Yes you can pull as many photo frame shots as you want with or without a computer. I am still learning the Video editing software but it is amazing. One thing to consider is the computer you edit on makes a big difference. I ordered my new computer with that in mind. I recorded this video in HD which is amazing on a HD TV. I could not beleive how clear the video was when I played it back on the TV. Simply amazing!!!. The trick is getting your Video on to a DVD that is where the computer comes in. There are other ways to get your video on DVD but it requires more hardware.I would recomend the Cannon HV20 great camera....Mark

Cool. thanks.

Oh, and thanks about the harpoon. I'm real glad we got it back. It was really kind of weird. The fish swam off with it and swam out maybe 150 feet from the boat and I slowly hauled him back. Gary manuvered the boat around for a while till we got him right beneath us. That's when he chewed through the warp. I could see him clearly and the harpoon was no linger with him. After he swam away we cried for a while and then Gary looks back and about 8 feet behind the boat the harpoon had floated up. He backed up to it and I grabbed it with the gaff.

It was made by my uncle Jim for my father. They're both long gone and hopefully chasing stripers and blues up above. It's going up on the wall now. I've got one lilly left that has line on it my father spliced and I'll adorn the shaft with it.
