Since Hurricane Irene, we finished all of the clean up around our house, and put the Bite Me back together.
I have been able to spend a little more time at the boat shop. Particularly because they have not let anyone back on Hatteras Island until today, only residents, no visitors.
In addition to the Nimrod, I have another project going on in there.
Natalie's brother Kyle is getting married in October. He and his Fiance' Jessica asked me if I could build them a Beer Boat, kind of a cooler that looks like a boat.
Here it is complete, and ready to be sanded, primed and painted.
I was kind of going for the beach dory look. After they are done with it, I am gonna use it as a decoy sled or clam boat.
The Nimrod is comming along nicely too.
I got all of the bulkheads cut down to height and tabbed them in.
Floor foamed in.
Also built a console. really in need of my Nidacore order for the floors soon, it is still in Norfolk unable to be delivered.
Got the motor too, a 2003 Yamaha 90 hot rod, ordered the jet lower unit from Outboard Jets.
I do have a new part time assistant in the boat shop, he stops in from time to time.
His name is Knocky and he is Frisco's tame buck deer, last year he was a button buck this year it looks like he is gonna be a big spike or even a three point. He walks right in the boat shop and likes to eat Juniper. his velvet must be itchin him because when I touched his antlers he rubbed them on me.
