Lance and his crew had a pretty good day today.
We were stalled at the dock first thing by a line of t-storms, but turned out to be less than expected so we left a little late, 6 boats fishing today from Hatteras Harbor Marina.
We started out where we hit Friday and looked everywhere out to 750 Fathoms offshore, thats deep, but we did not find them.
We finally talked a dolphin into eating the flatline about noon.
We fished back in a little shallower to some marks we had seen in the AM.
Found them again, but this time we tried some vertical jigging over the marks, and it was on.
The folks caught Big Amberjacks, Albecores and a few monster Blackfins 18 lbs and up!, three made citation.
They released most of the AJ's kept a couple small eatin size (small) and released the Albecore's as well.
I tell ya, I like this jigging, I think our crew did too, it is very angler active, you do the jiggin, and get to feel the bite with the rod in your hands. Its not easy, but these guys dug it.
