Default Central NC lakes?

Anyone fish them? I live near Kerr, Mayo, Falls, Mayo, Jordan, and Hyco is in my back yard. Anyone else fish these lakes?

I only fished for Stripers at SML once. I primarily fish for Largemouth and smallmouth when in freshwater. I still fish more in the fresh then in the salt.

I am just getting back into the fishing scene. I used to fish quite a lot back in the mid 90s. Mostly for bass and catfish in the fresh water and spot, croaker, flounder in the salty stuff. I may fish a little this fall but I really plan on fishing a lot next year. Right now I have a few honey-dos to tend to.

With my last boat we fished Jordan quite a bit. Jordan is a Crappie making machine and you can catch them all year long. Right know they should be hanging in deeper water. Just idle along where the coves drop into deeper water, when your sounder lights up just drop anchor so you can drift over them. Make sure you have lots onf minnows!!! We have caught as many as a few hundered in on sitting.
The stripers have come on strong over the past few years. We trolled for them but some live bait for them. Downriggers are a must as the lake has some deep areas that hold fish. Seems that Bucktails and swimming stick baits work the best. Find the main channel in the main lake body and troll the drop offs of the chanel...... Good luck Mark

I live in Raleigh and fish Falls, Jordan, and Kerr when not saltwater fishing. All the local lakes are very low right now. Went Kerr the day after Thanksgiving. Trolling diving baits and bucktails. No fish though. Kerr was at 295 then, down another foot now. Falls is all but unfishable right now. Very few boat ramps even usable.
I will probably head back to Kerr the Thursday after Christmas for some fishing, camping drinking and telling lies with a couple of buddies. On Kerr right now, they are catching a lot of stripers near Clarksville - bouy 17 - trolling bucktails and diving Redfins.
Jordan has some nice stripers as Offshore said. Live bait is always best if you can find it. Hotspot and Trollinheel over on THT or FPT are the striper junkies.
