For my Janis Legzdins group from Latvia, aboard the "Release" with Capt. Nico the figures for their first three days are: 128-102-32. Not bad for a group of trout fishermen - doing their own hooking first time on circle hooks! They are going to Tikal for a couple of days, then back fishing on the "Release" for three more days. So, I will have another report for this group later this week.

A list of characters, so I don't have to repeat everytime:
Cañaso - 37 Daytona with Capt. Chico Alvarenga
Finest Kind - 40 Whiticar with Capt. Ron Hamlin
Intensity - 37 Gamefisherman with Capt. Mike Sheeder
Release - 37 Merritt with Capt. Nico Melendrez
Rum Line - 40 Gamefisherman with Capt. Chris Sheeder
Spindrift - 38 Stolper with Capt. Nicho Alvarenga
Twenty - 40 Rybovich with Capt. Jason Brice
Pelagian - 37 Rybovich with Capt. Erik Lorentzen
The numbers and what they mean: first is number of fish raised, the middle is number of fish bites, and lastly the number of fish released.
We use dead large medium ballyhoos on circle hooks and Cam Sigler fly poppers.

09 April:
Finest kind 16-2-2 on the fly Release 35-30-19 –Latvia group (6th day)
For the 2nd leg of the Legzdins trip, the figures were 108-88-40 + 1 on fly
For their 6 day total …. 236-190-72 + 2 on fly
Congratulations go out to Capt. Nico Melendrez on the Release, his mates for a job well done and to the anglers: Janis Legzdins, Kaspars Roznieks, Gatis Klimass & Oskars Berzins
Most of the fly anglers are first timers, so they don't get the numbers like the conventional bait guys do. I have a more experienced group in there right now - Chip Rizzotto from Montana, Mark Cichon from Pennsylvania and seven from Canada.
