Guatemala - Pacific Fins report
Capt. Ron Hamlin reports:
June 6th. and 7th - Kenvin Duesterhoft brought 4 of his friends down at the same time that the tropical storm that devestated Quepos, was passing here. While not as bad it still had a lot of rain and some wind. In the 2 days we raised 5 had 5 bites and released 4. We also had a Blue Marlin eat a dorado right off out line and never bite one of our baits, now thats bad luck.
June 12 th, 13 th. and 14 - What a difference 4 days made for Bill Campbell and his son Andrew. The ocean was flat calm and the sun was out everyday. Fishing improved a lot we had 50 raises and 43 bites and released 27 we also had 2 shots a nice Blue and caught about 20 nice Yellow Fin Tunas there getting larger as the summer goes on.

This past week we fished with Patrick Stephens and Connie Seguin from Bellingham Washington - two anglers who normally fish salmon back home.
Day one fishing started slow and late - weather was not that good we raised 3 had 2 bites and caught 1 sail and 5 small dorados;
Day two still pretty bad seas but fishing was better - raised 2 had 1 bite and caught 1 sail - raised 2 blues had 1 bite and caught him that was Patrick's first blue ever and three dorados 40,42,and 38 lbs
Day three raised 4 had 2 bites caught 2 sails but the highlight was Patrick's TOMIC lure made for salmon fishing - we caught yellowfin ,dorados (40lbs),hound fish - 3 blues came into the spread -all 2 wanted were the teasers and the third one missed the skiping bonito and made a hole like a 1/4 stick of tnt exploded
Day four we had 5 sails up only 1 bite and caught him and 2 dorados 25 lbs
What a difference for this party that fishes mainly for salmon and halibut!
** Note - I have fished my Luhr Jensen salmon lures, similar to the Tomic shown in the pic, everywhere and they've always produced fish **
