Default Garmin 3210 & Purple Moo Screen Protector

I have a Garmin 3210 that is about 1 1/2 years old. I applied a Purple Moo screen protector the day I installed the unit in my boat. I picked my boat up yesterday from the shop and towed it home for the winter. When I arrived home, I took the Garmin cover off of the unit. Much to my dismay, the screen protector that I applied 1 1/2 years ago was peeling up and had large air bubbles under it. I decided to remove it and order a new one. When I peeled the protector off, it removed about 50% of the anti glare protection on the Garmin screen. The screen looked like s**t. I was able to use Windex with amonia to remove the rest of the glare protection. The screen now looks great, very clear, however it is much harder to see in sunlight. I am undecided at this point wether or not to order a different brand screen protector to see if it helps with the direct sunlight, or send it back to Garmin to have a new glass installed. If I have a new glass installed, I will then be reluctant to put the screen protector back on since it ruined the glass in such a short time. Anyone else have a similar problem?
