You've got to wonder what in the world he was doing sailing so close to the beach. It gets choppier in shallow water, I just can't imagine how any kind of sailor wouldn't know he was close, even if the sounder wasn't working. I think the boat is steel and therefore very strong, but I really wonder if anyone will be able to get her off--mighty heavy boat, would take a sizeable tug, and I doubt a big enough one could get close enough to the beach to tow her off. The tide doesn't rise all that much on the Outer Banks, that is, unless there is a nor'easter, and he's not going to get her off in one of those!
