Default We gave it a go this year....

Honestly guys, this year was the toughest for me so far, as far as things to be done before I go fishing. Not little things, like clean the boat, change the fuel filters, etc....Big things like rewire the boat, make the pumps and switches work, make a new hardtop, make the trailer actually roll. You know, big things.

I've got one person to thank for making it happen this year. (well, two, counting Lisa B for putting up with me over the last three weeks!) He's the one who drug my arse into gear. Three weekends of solid, in the rain wiring, trailer, construction, boat work.

Evilgli Wish I could've got him into a big tuna, but he did pick up some nice Mahi for the next few weeks. Here's an 18 lber we caught today.

Thanks Paul!

DOOOD, that is one ugly guy... but i must say that my brother worked hard to get his boat done and if anybody deserves it...its him.

i'm just glad i could help you get your boat done and we got out fishing. i could care less that we didn't get tuna, i'm just glad we caught fish and had a fun time. when you want to go out again let me know,, i'm always up for some fishing...and hopefully i can get my boat done and we can take it out and beat on it some.

i have to repeat i had a great time, thanks for putting me up for the 2 days and i wish i could help you more... thanks for posting the pic..

OH...i left my breaker bar and socket in the armada behind the drivers seat, so pull it out when you get a chance. i'll pick it up next time i'm down, which won't be too long.

Chris, glad you were able to get out and catch some fish. Hate we missed you this trip. It didn't seem right without you around the docks. Evil, look forward to meeting you sometime.....David

Nice job guys. Glad you got some time in the bluewater as a payoff for all that hard work. Chris, hope to see you another weekend when we're down this year.

Ken, we got 3 Mahi, the one went 18 lbs, an two more bailers at 10 lbs each. All on the dolphin spreader bar. I spent a large amount of the morning up north in cloudy 72 degree water.

I ran 100 degrees from the inlet on Mon, started my troll down south in 600-300 ft of water looking for the big eyes. Figured someone had to try this year. Once I met up with Dawiggs and the fleet 2 hours later in prettier 75 degree water, I put the smaller baits out and we got the mahi by picking at them. The last two were right beside Dave's boat, both hit the spreader bars.

I'm having some issues keeping the baits out of the whitewash at 7 knots, so it's way past time to get some outriggers. I'm pretty sure it would double my catch if I could get the baits in clean water on the sides of the wake. As it is right now I zig zag to keep the baits next to the whitewash, and that's annoying.

We'll be out and about more this year than ever before Josh. Boat is more dependable now, all it needs is gas. Nice to know it's in the driveway ready to go. I'd like to put 300 hours on it this year.

Chris,
I'm glad to hear you finally got out and got a few fish. I haven't been able to get out at all it's been a rough week here 1st I managed to crack the screen on my Simrad Plotter (don't ask me how) next my son decided our 6 month old 42" HD TV made a nice throwing target for one of his toys. I'm afraid to add up the $$$ to fix or replace both....I might head out to the towers on Sunday if the weather holds...
