Am I posting in the wrong place? Please tell me me if I am... previous message said I needed to repost here.

Just in case... Jonafare is in. 26' Grady White Express cabin. Captain has room for 1 more -- 4 anglers total. If someone wants to rotate in & out... or fish 1 day... not a problem. We plan to fish all 3 days. We'll arrive thursday evening, depart Monday morning. Flagging & permitting the boat issues, if you been reading about it.

here are my angler requirements & guidelines:

1. bring beer (Captain drinks miller Lite if you are curious)
2. bring girl friend if you want... she has to sit in the captain's chair with me (captain)
3. if you don't bring girlfriend, help with fuel is greatly appreciated.
4. boat gets a cut & pick of the fish... you buy the fish if we don't catch anything
5. must be able to tell jokes and keep us laughing for at least an hour
6. must be able to dive in and retrieve rod & reel should shoud you loose it overboard
7. must be able to drive boat when captain needs to use head
8. must bring food... lots of food... did I mention captain likes rye bread sandwiches
9. prior experience with offshore Mark eliminates food requirements for you -- we feed you.
10. you must agree to lie about the size fish we catch
11. you must remember that we catch fish in the mouth... that is our GPS coordinates
12. you agree to have a great time, even when untangling whip lashed reels.
13. you agree if sick, you'll chum overboard -- you have to chum both sides!
14. you agree to lie about the quantity of fish we catch... see rule 10
15. if you agree to the above -- welcome aboard!

Heck yeah Jonafare...my boat runs under similar rules except that rule 10 of Jonafare reads: you must agree to lie about the size of fish we catch to the point that ours are bigger.

Rule number 12 is something like you agree to have a good time even when untangling backlashed reels...EVEN when the Captain backlashed the reels

The June 6-8 date is that when the Big Rock is going on? I know last year the Big Rock was the 5-11. This might be a issue if anyone is planning on fishing the Big Rock.

The Big Rock is June 7-14 2008. You think this will cause any problems. I know I wasn't planning on fishing it.

I got lucky enough to fish it last year with a guy from Orange Beach, Al. He had a 42 Tiara and he wanted us to go to Florida in April to fish a tournament and then he was talking about running the boat back up to fish the Big Rock and all the tournaments again. It was dream opportunity, fish, mate, and didn't have to pay any entry fees or gas. He just wanted experienced people to help him fish. I hate to miss that opportunity again if it comes around. If ya know what I mean. I just didn't know if any of the people on this site were planning on fishing the Big Rock that were planning on being at the OBX gathering.

We have a conflict

The OBX Fun-n-Fish is has been announced and is scheduled for 19 to 22 June 2008 . . . this is not being run through THT

The Sick Children's Hospital in Norfolk has been the beneficiary for the last four years.

THIS year three national organizations, one a national restaurant, one a major nation chain of stores, and one a nation fishing equipment retailer have already decided to join in and help the event - - - the Sick Children's hospital brought these sponsor's in and this year the Hospital plans to have a representative present . . . . this has been organized with the help of Paul Buske of Kitty Hawk

The Hospital has already internally anounced these dates and the sponsors have agreed

It would be unfortunate to have two OBX events in the same month . . . this would split many of the participants who would have to chose between one event or the other as some plan their vacations around this event.

Would you please consider a different date, possible in the fall? . . . this would give us two separate dates to get together.
