Default Spring OBX FairWeather Fest (Dates- Ideas)

Thought I would start a thread just for the event:
I think first we need to pick a date. From the past The first few weeks of June has been a excellent time to be at the OuterBanks and the fishing is great. The sooner we get a date the better off it will be for everyone wanting to make plans..

How about one of these weekends......Mark

I like early June, the 6-8 days.

Scheduling these things is like playing roulette, as you know Mark.

This fall was a huge bust.

Perhaps a "on call" fishing event, where we monitor the bite and then schedule, at everyone's ok, when to hold the weekend? A week of notice would be ok for most folks, I think.

Just spifballing

The only problem with the on call type event is that it excludes most out of the area folks that wish to come. I had suggested at on time that ther be a full week but you would only fish 2 or three days toward the calcuttas if there are any. That way you could come for a week and fish the days you wanted to. Or you could take a chance and fish the last few days. Its a tough decision no doubt but there really needs to be a firm date......Mark

Why dont you just steal the weekend of the 20th away from that other fourms event?
Most of the people that were involved are here now

Either of those weeks is ok with me. I think we could also have kind of an "on call" group of locals for another informal tournament too. If we get one of those stretches where there is an epic bite going on then I say we just do an additional short notice tourney for all who can show up.

With how bad the fishing sucked this Fall...we are going to be on call whether or not ya'll decide to pick dates or not...if the fish aren't looking to be there we wouldn't make the 600 mile trip. Just my 2 cents

Hey I have always been a on call fisherman you can ask anyone that fishes with me. I never let them know till the day before!! The only problem with the outerbanks is finding a place to stay at the last minute it is tough!! Maybe we can all stay on Jonafare's Boat!!!!
